I’m finally getting around to starting my blog back up. Yes, I know, it’s been a while. Since my last post I’ve moved back to North Carolina and started working full time so I’ve been busy busy. But hey!….here we go!
A couple of months ago, I got to photograph this beauty before her big day. I was lucky to get to meet Taylor through my new job at Strawbridge Studios and it’s been a pleasure working by her side since.
Taylor was kind enough to sit down and answer a few questions for me and I am posting her answers right here, right now!
Q: Where did you and hubby meet?
A: Evan and I met through high school. His Grandparents lived in my neighborhood and every Sunday he would eat lunch there with his family. His Nana eventually talked him into coming to my house to hang out. Our first time hanging out together was spent playing a basketball game called H.O.R.S.E., where I kicked Evan’s butt! I think our competitiveness is what started our friendship. We stayed friends for a while and didn’t start actually dating until college.
Q: How did he propose?
A: (From Evan) “I knew for awhile before I proposed to Taylor that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. On this past Valentine’s day I decided it’d be a good day to go ring shopping because I figured there would be good deals. My dad actually showed up in Wilmington that day after a delivery and surprised me at work, I surprised him back when I asked him to go ring shopping with me. It was an awesome experience to have him there with me for it and I know it was special for him as well. Next I had to plan out the proposal! I knew I wanted to do something to reflect our relationship. We have always been an adventurous couple. We love going on trips to new places and trying new things. So my first thought was to propose on a snowboarding trip (which was our first adventure together). The weather got warmer before we could plan a trip, so back to the drawing board. Taylor decided to plan a surprise trip for me. I swore up and down that we were going to New York, so I planned to do it there and surprise her back. However we ended up at Busch Gardens instead so I carried the ring around with me but couldn’t find the right moment. Our next trip was in Holden Beach, where we went glamping (glamorous camping, where your campsite is already set up for you). Our camp site was very beautiful in a nice secluded area. My plan was to cook a nice dinner and eat by the campfire, and propose at the right moment. However, much to my luck it started pouring down rain and once again had to call it off. The next morning I said okay that’s it, no more putting it off, and as we were loading our last bags I was following Taylor thanking her for yet another amazing adventure. I then said “I can’t think of a better way to end an adventure than to begin another” and got down on one knee. She turned around and thought I was joking, because she didn’t see the ring yet, but when I pulled it out she immediately teared up and said YES! BEST DAY EVER!”
Q: How long were you engaged?
A: 4 months engaged.
Q: When and where did you get married?
A: We got married September 29th 2018 in Sunset Beach, NC
Q: Where did he get your ring?
A: He went to Kay Jeweler.
Q: Where did you get your dress?
A: I bought my dress at David’s Bridal!
